Lyrics

I want to take some time and talk to you
can I just have a second a minute or two
I want to speak on some issues
I feel are a need
in advance thank you for this opportunity

we have football players, i'm not saying no names
getting paid top dollar just for playing a game
but the cops on the streets who put their lives on the line
risking all for their country get 5.99
now football is cool I like it too when they score
but saving a life I like that much more
and if you disagree
than you tell me, if it was your life on the line
who would you want to see

To my men and women standing on front line
while your out there dying your families are at home crying
don't get me wrong I salute to you
for all that you do I pray for you
your fighting for our land to keep world peace
they call it home of the brave and land of the free
America, land of opportunity and such where else could you earn enough to owe so much

We the people have got to learn some unity
we've got to learn to stick together if we're to suceed

Now spongebob squarepants is worth a billion i've heard
now I don't know about you but to me that sounds obsurd
the word of equel opportunity he's not even real and living better than me
See, you've got the government, you've got the president
who's pulling green leaves while we're just pulling lent
and the only one they seem to answer too
is the ones who walk and talk to their money groove
and you know it's true and it was proven to you
cause you couldn't get no help when katrina came through

you found yourself, by yourself crying out for some help
all alone through the storm and still after they did you wrong
with the FEMA trailers the system was a wreck
you nearly had to break your neck just to get you FEMA check

Now months later I don't know if you heard, but my sisters and my brothers this is the word
neighborhoods are still gone, the leeves are still torn theres no work for us here but they still say come home

But we the people must learn to stand together as one in order to band murder and war starvation and pain
if we don't in the end it all will be the same
the young will suffer the old will die our dreams will wither and pride will hide
it we don't stand for something we'll settle for anything the stilling the killing the lying the cheating

now I don't know about you but I have something to live for but when I go through my young life will on

so instill, install provide
We the people have got to fight to stay alive.
